There were a variety of workshops that has taught me skills useful but only for the future, but only for my medical studies. It had given me a taste of a career in surgery. Some of the talks were alright, while there were few that were inspiring and really interesting. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the conference - it was well organised, the committee knew what they were doing and was well managed.

It obviously took a lot of effort to manage anddespite it not being that relevant to my job prospects it did make me consider surgery a lot more. I attended the 1st conference around this time last year as a third year with a group of friends, after finding out about it on Facebook. I've since attended a few conferences at HYMS and generally find them excellent - extremely well run, with a wealth of inspirational speakers. It's clear that a lot of effort goes into the planning and organisation, and it really pays off. Came back this year, but brought another group of friends this time. I'll continue to keep an eye out for other conferences here.
