Well run course. Good mix of exam practice and chance to see a variety of signs. Faculty all knowledgeable with most having relatively recent experience of sitting PACES which I felt was of benefit.

Good to actually get hands on experience with examining/ taking history from patients Sometimes felt likepeople at station not critiquing enough. Better to be critical here and learn than in the exam The group Iwas put in were people who had not booked the exam or started revising so I felt I couldn't learn muchfrom other members of the group and would prefer a group of all local trainees if possible.

I thought it was very good value for money with good selection of cases. I would have preferred more timeon clinical examination / station 5, (and less time on communication/history taking) as this is the hardestto practice outside of work.
HM
Sandwell General Hospital, West Bromwich
Very well organised given the fact that it is a 2 day course. Cases were good, especially respiratory andabdomen. Feedback was always given at the end of the station which was very useful.
AM
Solihull Hospital, Solihull
Good - for some stations there were 6 students and only 5 patients which meant I could not do aneurology exam and in others where there were two examiners I wonder if it would be better to split thegroup so that we can examine more patients, but overall very good and definitely good value for money.

I found this course quite useful and invaluable for my preparation. As compared to other courses that I did before, I found this course less expensive, cost-effective and well organized and all the examiners/tutors were extremely competent. I have recommended the course to many of my colleagues as well.

I passed the examination .from the first attempt and I got 139 score. I think the course that I did in your hospital it was beneficial to some extent, specially the communication skills; I really got benefit from that. Please send my best regard to all Doctors in Doctors Academy ,specially the one who originally from Libya and the girl who s from India they were together in station 5, they were really support me because I was bad in my language, anxious not confident; I think I was the worst student in the course, even some of them they laughed on me. I did not give up I tried hardly and I passed and I got full mark in communication skills the one that I was bad in it.
Mr Raikan Rasheed
Colchester General Hospital
I have indeed passed my PACES exam. Thank you for the course. I am more than happy to supply a short testimonial: The Birmingham PACES course covered many common topics and its best point is that all participants get a chance in examining all systems, take a history and test their communication skills. Everyone also has at least 2 goes at Station 5. All in all, excellent value for money and is as good a standard as the commercialised courses." I am not training in CMT now but anaesthetics. I am very interested in teaching but I don't suppose you will take a trainer that does not have a NTN in medicine? Do let me know as I would indeed like to partake in teaching.
Ms Rachel Hung

Mr Kaung Htet
Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool
A very special thank you to every body at Doctors Academy. I am glad to let you know that I have passed the PACES exam. Your course helped me to prepare for the exam. What I liked the most & the reason I will recommend the course to others is the excellent feed back method & the opportunity to brush up our presenting skills and ironing out any flaws. The faculty was great and also the second day was very useful & everybody got the chance to do at least 2 history & 2 communication stations each.
